If you haven't experienced a low level proximate fireworks display then your audience will be in for a treat, as they will be only 75 feet away from the Display Perimeter. Everyone claims that our Low Level firework displays are a great experience and most have never been this close to a display. That's our niche in Florida, bringing fireworks close up and making it a personal experience.

Our Multishot battery firework displays are awesome with our large caliber 1.4 Consumer fireworks that leaves little debris and mess. Perfect for weddings and corporate beach events.

No longer do you need a large open field next to a stadium for a fireworks display -- you can have a "mini" display launched from an end zone, or even right on the fifty yard line. Want people to stay until a carnival or event closes? Announce fireworks at closing time! It works for Disney. You can use fireworks to get people to come to an event, and then to stay until it's over.
Proximate pyrotechnics are more than just mini fireworks displays. They are used for special effects in theater and film, for bangs, booms, color, and flashes at rock concerts and sporting events -- they can even be used to spice up a company meeting, a presentation, a store opening, a product announcement, a sporting event -- anytime you want to make an event special in Florida.

There is a tendency to try and spread a small budget much too far in the mistaken belief that "times equals value". It is important to realize that there is no direct relationship between cost and duration.

It is very difficult to assess identically priced displays from different sources. Although it is important to compare estimates of proposed material content, showing total numbers and caliber sizes of the fireworks to be used, it is equally important to consider the quality of the fireworks and the expertise and enthusiasm of the operators.

Fireworks displays are best appreciated if the firing is brisk without blank pauses. In our experience, if the display is meant to climax the evening, it should last about 5 to 10 minutes. Special Effects C02 Jet Blast - Smoke Accelerators - Streaming Jets

We can make it look cool and cold on any stage in many different ways, take your dance floor from 90 degrees to 30 degrees in 6 seconds with our special effects C02 effects.

Magic F/X is providing Propane Flames for all the 2004-05 home games of the Florida Flames. The NBA - NBDL league basketball team, at the Germain Arena Fort Myer Florida. See the cyro in the background for the team intro.

Our Special effects team can provide C02 Blast jet heads that will make a 6 foot wide by 15 foot long stream, one from each side of the stage. C02 streaming jet which will reveal a CEO, VIP, keynote speaker or products to gain attention for an entrance. This is a visual effect as well as a loud sound. As soon as the C02 (Looks like smoke) is switched off it’s gone, No smoke left in the room. The C02 custom heads we use, after shooting less than two feet from the head the stream becomes 6 foot wide travels 15 feet plus long. This is a great accent for corporate theatre that is a big wow factor.
We do offer C02 walls and plumes of various sizes to create a visual background or accents points at your convention. We do custom applications built into your stage and set. The effect produces a forceful stream-like safe substance that is cool to the touch, and can shoot up vertically or drift down from a truss or ceilings. Our Propane Fire Pit looks like a real illusion

Our Propane Fire pit looks like a real open fire pit but has non of the smoke or burning ambers because it a propane flame unit. Yet it produces an amazing amount of heat (77,500 BTUH x 3) and has logs that glow with heat and flames that reach a few feet high.

We delevoped this for IBM Corp. beach party in Miami Beach. Our unit is surrounded with rock and with the propane lines buried, your group will surround the fire pit and stay warm and will never know the difference. This is safest way to bring a fire pit to your event, you supply the marshmallows.

We are licensed Flame effect operator in the State of Texas & the State of Nevada Certified NFPA 160.2001 Flame Propane Effects Operator with a successful completion of a comprehensive written examination. We are able to use propane in a majority of City & States.

We can bring Propane Flames as a special effect for any event for an unbelievable WOW accent. Our smaller Propane Flames system can keep a constant (600 1 sec hits with a 20 lbs tank) burst of fire shooting on any stage indoor or out. You can place these units very close to talent and scenic elements. These flames can be adjusted to shoot from 2 - 10 feet high filling the air every few seconds with pillars of flame or fire balls. We can simulate the olympic fire cauldron indoors or out.

Propane Flame heads are controlled and monitored with Honeywell intermittent pilot module, providing system status and feedback with it's sensors and is complete with an E-Stop feature. The electronic parts of our system are approved and certified by Applied Research Laboratories (ARL), CSA, UL, OHSA, Florida Mechanic & NFPA 160 Codes. Every controller provides feedback as to the status of the flame unit. Redundant PLC's and double shut off values to the either 5-10-20-40 pound tanks.

Four 30 foot flame heads on a truss structure

Our larger Propane Flame units shoot flames from 10 – 30 feet high with a thicker flame that can be shot at strategic intervals but less hits, around 12 times with a 10 pound tank and 25 times with a 20 pound propane bottle and 50 shots with a 40 pound bottle per head with accumulator tank. These units use 3 times + the amount of propane per head than the smaller 10 foot units. The 30 foot flames are an real attention getter and was seen on many NFL Superbowl Half Time Shows. The LSG system produces an incredible low-lying fog effect. The system utilizes a smoke machine and a special cryogenic unit, the LSG. This system combined with a CO2 dewar tank, produces a constant, large volume of fog at the push of a button.

Zigmonts' execution of the disappearances and reappearances
for "Warrior" around the stadium was the rebirth of this
superhero wrestler back into the wrestling world. Zigmont used a
gale force cryogenics smoke system and illusionary devices to accomplish

LITTLE ROCK, AR, (NAMC) - The American Taekwondo Association (ATA) World Championships will celebrate the sport of taekwondo’s 50-year anniversary with six days of competition, seminars and a spectacular opening ceremony June 14-19 2005 in Little Rock.

Zigmont Magic F/X, Inc. holds various licenses with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the State of Ohio, Texas, Nevada, Colorado and Florida, and various other localities to allow us to import, transport, store, manufacture and display all types of explosives involved in a pyrotechnic display. Every display Magic F/X shoots shall have permits from the local authorities having jurisdiction. We provide along with the permits a $1,000,000.00 1.4 Explosives liability insurance policy that is required on all pyro shoots.

We are trained specialists, licensed and certified with continuing education in fireworks safety NFPA 1126.2000 NFPA 160 and 1124 codes. Successful completion of a comprehensive written examination covering this standard and state laws pertaining to the use of pyrotechnic special effects.

A Pyro show

Always hire a trained effects specialist technician that is ATF licensed and NFPA 1126 certified to pull permits, plan, design, buy and operate pyrotechnics for the show.

We submit an application with a plan of action, details of the show and a list of the types, numbers and diagrams of the pyrotechnics devices to be used which is submitted to the local fire department.

1. Inspecting the site —The fire marshal meets the pyrotechnician at the venue and the pyro get approved in relationship with walls, ceilings, props, people and curtains (must be fire- retardant).
2. Devices must be suitable for the venue — flame projectors shooting 10-foot flames will not be allowed in a venue with 10-foot ceilings. One of each device is tested on the day of the show. The permit process takes at least 15 days.
3. During the show the pyrotechnician is accompanied by fire personnel so the alarms and smoke detectors are downed and are stand-by for the show.
4. Public safety — If members of the fire watch detail feel that safety is being compromised, they can stop the show. Depending on the size of the show, a fire truck may also be present and extra fire extinguishers may are required.
5. Other safety measures are;
   • Safe distance of at least 15 feet between the public and any pyrotechnic device.
   • No smoking around the devices.
   • The proper selected pyro device for the venue and two water-filled fire extinguishers available at all times

How pyrotechnics works — One device that produces a fountain-style spray of bright sparks is called the “gerb,” from the French word for sparks.

Be Safe and Spectacular

• Ask to see the special effects company's license and to see evidence that the company is insured for Pyrotechnics.
• Rehearse the pyro display. "Ask for product demo in the venue the day before or morning of the show". "This will let you know, in a safe environment, how the product will perform in the venue, and if there are any additional changes that need to be made to account for the pyrotechnic effects." If you are using talent, be sure to include them in the pryo rehearsal. "This will allow the artist to be familiar with the effect and to maintain a comfortable distance from the devices while performing.
• Get a copy of the permit issued by the fire department. "Many fully licensed amateur pyrotechnicians - such as disc jockeys - claim they do not use enough pyrotechnic devices, and therefore are exempt from obtaining a permit," "That is simply untrue." Plus there no such thing as a cold burning gerb sparks in pyro.
• Leave yourself plenty of time. "Most cities require that request for permits are submitted 15 to 30 days before the event is to take place.

• The term Cold Spark referring to gerbs is another interesting sales tactic we feel needs to be addressed. Everyone in this industry has at one time or another put his or her hand into the spark plume of a silver gerb. It is an interesting curiosity to see these sparks, burning at several thousand degrees, harmlessly bounce off your skin. This is not true for all gerbs, as some have painfully discovered. Other metal sparks such as zirconium, iron, ferrotitanium and glitter spritzels, do not behave the same as titanium, unfortunately. These materials unlike titanium, go molten before the final reaction and will not harmlessly glance off your skin, but instead imbed themselves in your flesh causing a nasty burn. We feel it is wise to treat all spark plumes with the same respect as you would any pyrotechnic material, and keep your body parts at a safe distance.

General Safety Rules

Read the general safety rules carefully at least twice! If you have trouble following instructions to the letter, then you should not be involved with pyrotechnics in any way. One small mistake or misread line can lead to disaster. Pyro is very safe in the hands of the careful user.

1. Keep two water filled fire extinguishers available at all times.
2. Do not discharge stage pyro closer then 15 feet to the nearest audience member.
3. Never refill a warm pot. Make sure that your flash pot has cooled down before reloading to prevent accidental ignition.

Keep away from flammables. Fallout from flash pots can ignite other nearby objects. If you can not position the Devices/flash pot at a safe distance from these flammables (at least 15 feet), then you must either treat the flammables with a flame retarding or discontinue the show. Use common sense when making this decision.

1. Protect yourself. Wear disposable plastic gloves, goggles and a breathing mask when handling chemicals. Some chemicals can be unhealthy if inhaled.
2. Do not pour chemicals directly from the bottle into the flash pot. Instead, take a plastic spoon and transport needed chemicals to the pot. This way, if there is an accidental ignition you will reduce the chances of hurting yourself.
3. Never use glass or metal utensils or storage devices. Make sure all spoons are made of plastic, and all chemical storage containers are either plastic or cardboard. This reduces the chance of damaging shrapnel in case of accidental detonation.
4. Never build your own flash pot. This is a sure way to put a quick end to your pyro career, and one of the most common mistakes made. Chemicals wedged between pieces of metal with no place to go result in flying metal shrapnel. Flash pots may look simple, but are built to (cold rolled steel) exacting specifications.
5. Always test your device in an open field first. Use the exact measurements of chemicals that you intend to use on stage. Never try something on stage for the first time.
6. Always be prepared to discontinue your show. Do you see something that makes you uncomfortable? Is the crowd getting too close to the stage? Keep your flash pots in your line-of-sight before, during and after discharging, and be prepared to abort the performance at the last minute.

Safety - It's your call.

Please be advised
You will need various licenses/permits with the ATFE Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the State/city where you live or performing, and various other localities to allow to import, transport, store, manufacture and display (shoot) all types of explosives involved in a pyrotechnic display. The AFTE permit will allow you to buy Pyrotechnics and fire marshals require these to shoot.

The other Certification will help you attain a permit from the local authorities having jurisdiction is a pyro state license. You must pull a permit from the local fire dept. and have schedule a fire watch with the fire Marshal's office. For that you will need to provide a $1,000,000.00 Class "C" 1.4G Explosives liability insurance policy that is required on all pyro shoots. This is a policy that is just for pyro and not a general liability policy.

You will have to show you qualifications of NFPA 1126 national fire codes for Standards for the use of Pyrotechnics before a Proximate Audience to obtain the insurance policy and fire permit. A Log Book of shows performed and the related proof that you are qualified for safety and certified in indoor pyrotechnics Heavy fines and arrest can occur if these step are not followed This can include open flame and smoke machines in some cities.

You need to follow National fire codes 101, 1126 to pull a permit. You can't not use Pyro unless you follow all of the above. You will need a pyrotechnics company to provide indoor pyro which knows how to provide the Fire dept a Plan of Action to deal with all the codes and keep the event safe.

Propane Safety

Flame effect classification - NFPA 160 Group 3

1. Clearance -10 feet from any performer and 20 feet + from audience.
2. Propane fuels - use approved hoses and E - Values.
3. Propane 5-10-20 -pound bottles will be 10 feet away from flame source or flame head.
4. Heads have a pilot confirmation and a safety control with two shut off values.
5. Flames have been design to prevent accidental firing and emergency stop.
6. Propane Flame heads should have a safety system like a Honeywell intermittent pilot module, providing system status and feedback with its sensors.
7. System should be approved and certified by ARL, CSA, UL, OHSA, States Mechanic & NFPA 160.2001 Codes.

    How Important is Ventilation?

    Propane requires a large volume of air to burn properly. In fact, 23.5 cubic feet of air is needed to burn just one cubic foot of propane. With adequate ventilation, an operating burner gives off a number of harmless products such as carbon dioxide and water vapor. But a propane appliance starved of oxygen can quickly produce dangerous amounts of carbon monoxide.

When properly filled, 80 per cent of the cylinder contains liquid propane. The space above the liquid, to the top of the cylinder, holds propane vapor. Enough space must be left in the cylinder to let the liquid propane expand, if the cylinder is exposed to warmer temperatures. Without this space, the “relief valve” may open and release propane, creating a potential safety hazard.

C02 Safety

Carbon Dioxide, CO2, is a tasteless, colorless, odorless, nonflammable, liquefied gas. Carbon dioxide is an integral part of the basic life cycle in nature. It is exhaled by humans and animals and used by plants to help them grow. Plants, in turn, release oxygen, which people depend on for survival. Carbon dioxide cannot catch fire.

C02 effects are composed primarily CO2, which can be harmful when breathed in a concentrated form, so don’t let anyone breathe it directly. Used as directed our C02 nozzles are safe.

• “Keep your head out of fumes. Do not breathe fumes and gases. Use enough ventilation, local exhaust, or both to keep fumes and gases from your breathing zone” But Using C02 special effects in a open ventilated arena with the C02 shooting for a number of second at a time with close intervals is completely safe and used at major theme parks and clubs small and large all over the world.
The key is to aim the keep the nozzle 10 feet from the heads of the target audience and allow the end of the plume created to hit the dance floor.
